Harvest Gourds6x6 Oil on Masonite
These gourds were at the local Farmers Market in TC. The colors and textures made a wonderful compositition to paint and quite a challenge.

About Me
- Shirley J Aboudib
- My name is Shirley Aboudib. I began painting 15 years ago but put it aside to raise a family and to develop our businesses. Now that my 4 daughters are getting older I have begun to paint again and really enjoy it. I have worked with many different mediums and on many different surfaces but I prefer oil on gessoed masonite. I also prefer the smaller format as it forces me to loosen up. I consider myself an impressionistic realist. I like things to look like they really do but I would prefer not to labor over them. I love to paint scenes that include water, cottages, landscapes, boats, rivers and I enjoy still lifes that include fruits, vegetables and flowers. I have some experience doing people and would like to master that art. I learned to paint while living in Texas but now live in Michigan with my family and I am very inspired by the beauty of the Michigan outdoors. If you are a collector, thank you for considering my art. You are what pushes me on and encourages me to refine my skill. My paintings are all signed originals and dated on the back. I LOVE FALL. This painting is the perfect example of why. The colors are beautiful and what is more simple this time of year than gourds. There is nothing better than wandering the local Farmers Market on a beautiful fall day hunting for pumpkins, gourds, apples and mums. Especially if it is your Birthday. Beautiful Work!
